ABOUT THE CIVIL ENGG DEPT

The Department of Civil Engineering is the youngest Engineering Dept at V.V.I.E.T. Mysore.
The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the year 2006 & it has been growing from strength to strength.

The Department is under the able guidance of Dr. N.R.Krishnaswamy as the Head Of the Department. It has 15 faculty members out of which four faculty members have Ph.D degrees from reputed Universities and I.I.T’s.

Civil Dept is blessed with eminent faculties like Dr.B.Chandrashekar,Principal of VVIET, Dr. P. Mahadevappa, Technical Director of VVIET, Dr.R.G.C.Shekar and our Dr.N.R.Krishnaswamy, Head of Civil Engg Dept.

All the faculty members are actively associated with the Research Centre for Infrastructural Development which was inaugurated in 2007.

NIRMAAN – A Civil Engineering Students Association which imparts practical knowledge to students, provides facilities for field visits, technical talks and helps for overall development of budding Civil Engineers.

SHILPI – This is a Student wing of prestigious Builders Association of India (BAI) set up in V.V.I.E.T, which acts as a bridge for academia and industries. Under this the budding Civil Engineers are taken to field visits, trained to recent technical advances etc.

CIVILITY – This is the ever first News letter brought out by Civil Engineering Department along with NIRMAAN. This gives a forum for the students to exhibit their writing skills in both technical and non technical aspects. This gives a complete detail of all activities conducted by Department of Civil Engineering annually.

WEBSITE – First ever in V.V.I.E.T and other Engineering colleges of Mysore, Civil Engineering Department of V.V.I.E.T has its own Departmental Website.

To the credit of our Civil Dept, this Website is developed and designed by only Civil Engineering Students without any help of Software engineers.

Research Centre for Infrastructural Development – Many research oriented works along with faculty members is taking place. It helps students to update their knowledge on present Infrastructural Development.
